After Sharing Senses with the Paranoid CEO, the Infamous Starlet was Forced into Pampering Chapter 43
Chapter 43: Your Man is Looking for Other Men Outside
Li Yanzhou saw the message and instantly knew what Ren Zhilin was trying to do. He tapped out a reply:
[Are you trying to make me jealous on purpose?]
[Don’t bother. Xia Mu was in my bed last night.]
Ren Zhilin read the text, picked up his phone, and typed back:
[Relax, I have zero interest in your boyfriend.]
[You’d better keep it that way.]
Ren Zhilin chuckled, set his phone aside, and looked at Xia Mu, who was happily eating.
“Are you feeling sore anywhere? Like your lower back, your thighs… or maybe your backside?”
The question was so sudden and direct that Xia Mu choked, coughing until his ears turned red. After gulping down some soup, he looked at Ren Zhilin in utter bewilderment.
“No, I feel fine. Why would you ask that?”
Ren Zhilin blinked. Ever since he concluded that Xia Mu and Li Yanzhou had spent the night together, he had been curious. But looking at Xia Mu now, he didn’t seem to be in any pain, and his voice wasn’t hoarse at all.
Don’t tell me Li Yanzhou is lacking in that department?
Ren Zhilin made a mental note to whip up a few traditional herbal remedies to help his friend boost his stamina.
“It’s nothing. Just let me know if you do feel sore. Don’t be shy about asking for advice.”
“Thanks, Dr. Ren.” Xia Mu smiled and went back to his food. He was genuinely hungry, and since the dishes perfectly matched his preferences, he ended up eating quite a bit.
Once they had cleared the table, Xia Mu leaned back and patted his stomach. “Actually, I do have a favor to ask, Dr. Ren.”
“Go ahead.”
“Do you have any digestion pills? Could you spare a few boxes?” Xia Mu asked sheepishly. “I haven’t been watching my diet the last couple of days, and I’m worried I’ll look bloated on camera if I start filming soon.”
“Bloated?” Ren Zhilin stared at him. “With your frame, Li Yan—I mean, I could lift you with one hand.”
“You know how it is. Actors have to be incredibly strict about their fitness,” Xia Mu said with a sigh. “I’ll talk to Sister Yi tomorrow. I think I should join a gym and hire a personal trainer instead of just working out on my own.”
“You want to hire a personal trainer?” Ren Zhilin asked, his interest piqued.
“Yeah.”
“Any specific requirements?”
Unaware of the trap, Xia Mu thought about it for a moment. “He needs to be tall and handsome. Since he’s a trainer, he should have a solid build. Oh, and most importantly, he has to be gentle. I definitely wouldn’t survive some hardass, drill-sergeant workout routine.”
Xia Mu knew his own limits. If he had a trainer who was encouraging and pleasant to be around, he would be much more motivated to actually go to the gym.
“Alright, I get it,” Ren Zhilin laughed. “I actually have a friend who runs a gym not far from here. If Sister Yi approves, I can have him look for a suitable trainer for you.”
“Really? Thanks so much, Dr. Ren!”
After leaving Xia Mu’s dorm, Ren Zhilin immediately called Li Yanzhou. The moment the call connected, Li Yanzhou’s impatient voice came through the line.
“If you have something important to say, spit it out. If it’s nonsense, don’t waste my time. I’ve already dealt with you enough today.”
Ren Zhilin wasn’t fazed at all. He smirked and said, “Is that so? I guess you don’t want to hear about your boy looking for other men, then.”
He hung up immediately, leaving Li Yanzhou with no time to react.
Ren Zhilin walked toward the parking lot, ignoring his phone as it buzzed repeatedly with incoming calls. He had to keep him in suspense for a bit to make it fun.
Only after he got into his car did he finally pick up Li Yanzhou’s fifth call, putting it on speaker.
“Explain. What other men?”
“What’s the rush?” Ren Zhilin chuckled. “I saw Xia Mu today, and he seemed in perfect shape—not a hint of soreness. Are you sure you’re getting the job done?”
“Cut the crap. Get to the point.” Li Yanzhou’s tone grew dangerous. Even though Ren Zhilin was under the mistaken impression that they had already crossed that line, Xia Mu’s previous comment about men ‘peaking at twenty-five’ still rankled. Was the kid really looking down on him for being older?
“Alright, alright, I’ll stop teasing. But I am sending you some prescriptions tomorrow. You really need to work on your stamina,” Ren Zhilin said quickly, trying to avoid a total blowout. “Xia Mu mentioned he wants to join a gym and hire a personal trainer.”
“A personal trainer?”
An image immediately flashed in Li Yanzhou’s mind: a crowded gym, with a trainer guiding Xia Mu through his workouts, inevitably touching him to correct his form.
“No, absolutely not.”
“What right do you have to forbid it? Xia Mu wanting to exercise is a good thing. Unless, of course, you’re speaking as his boyfriend… but let’s pretend I didn’t ask.”
“When is he looking for one?”
“Tomorrow. He wants to discuss it with Xu Wenyi first. I asked him what his ideal trainer looked like: tall, handsome, and big.”
“Big where?” Li Yanzhou frowned. That didn’t sound like something Xia Mu would say.
“He’s looking for a personal trainer, so obviously big muscles. What on earth were you thinking?” Ren Zhilin feigned complete innocence, delighted to have successfully baited him.
“That position is already filled by me,” Li Yanzhou said flatly.
“Seriously, Li Yanzhou? Aren’t you being a little too full of yourself?”
“Why? How do I not fit the description?” Li Yanzhou leaned back in his chair, a faint smile tugging at his lips.
Ren Zhilin thought about it and realized he couldn’t actually argue. Li Yanzhou was tall, strikingly handsome, and incredibly well-built. He checked every single box. Except for one.
“Oh, I forgot to mention. Xia Mu said the most important trait is gentleness. He hates being pushed too hard. So you can count yourself out. Your temper is mediocre at best—there isn’t a gentle bone in your body.”
“Do I not sound gentle?” Li Yanzhou raised an eyebrow.
“My dear CEO Li, you should ask Qin Yu that question. Anyway, I told Xia Mu that I have a friend who owns a gym nearby, and if he and Xu Wenyi agree, he can come over. He seemed interested. The thing is, I don’t actually have a friend who runs a gym. The ball is in your court now. Do with it what you will.”
Laughing, Ren Zhilin hung up, leaving the problem to Li Yanzhou.
Li Yanzhou immediately buzzed Qin Yu back into the office. “Look into the gyms near Shengyi Entertainment. Acquire one of them as quickly as possible and put one of our people in charge.”
Qin Yu had noticed that ever since President Li met Xia Mu, these spontaneous, impulsive decisions were becoming a regular occurrence. Buying a gym out of the blue? What for? Still, he kept his head down, nodded, and got to work.
Just as Qin Yu reached the door, Li Yanzhou called out to him. After a brief silence, he asked:
“Am I not gentle?”
