I Eat My Own Jealousy Chapter 80

Chapter 80

After taking Jian Ning back to the villa, Zong Ye took advantage of the time Jian Ning and Tuantuan were playing on the lawn outside to scold Colin again, ordering him to guard Fang Tian strictly and absolutely not let him escape again.

After reprimanding him, Zong Ye hung up the communicator and walked to the window, looking out at the lawn. Tuantuan was running around, chasing Feiyu. The little cub had grown a bit but still looked incredibly silly. He didn’t even realize Feiyu was making him run in circles, foolishly spinning around several times before falling to the ground with a splat, dizzy. Feiyu flew over to his head and said something; the little cub wiped his face with his paw, grunted as he climbed back up, and continued wagging his tail, happily chasing Feiyu in circles again.

How did he end up with such a silly son? Unable to bear the sight, Zong Ye looked away and turned his gaze to Jian Ning, who was sitting nearby. Sensing his gaze, Jian Ning looked up. Just as their eyes met, Tuantuan fell on his butt with another splat, landing right on a small rock. He got up pitifully, his little short legs pitter-pattering as he ran toward Jian Ning. He bit Jian Ning’s sleeve, wanting him to rub his aching little tail. He even buried himself in Jian Ning’s arms, whining as he gestured for him to look at the small rock that bumped him, licking Jian Ning’s chin and acting spoiled to make him take revenge for him.

Too spoiled. Zong Ye literally couldn’t bear to look. He dialed his communicator to call Guanjia Abel to the study.

“Da Shaoye, what’s the matter?” Guanjia Abel, who was just having the kitchen prepare dinner, came up and asked.

Zong Ye asked, “Are the documents for Tuantuan to enter the Cub Academy all prepared?”

Guanjia Abel replied, “They are all prepared. Xiao Shaoye can enter the academy at any time.”

Preparations for Xiao Shaoye to attend school had begun before they went to Planet Laiyin, and everything was ready, just waiting for his enrollment.

Zong Ye nodded and ordered, “Change his legal guardian back to Jian Ning.”

Guanjia Abel froze, “Da Shaoye…”

To enter the military’s Cub Academy, at least one parent had to hold a position in the military. Previously, to allow Tuantuan to attend and to restore his father-son relationship with Zong Ye, the guardian on the documents had been changed to Zong Ye.

Zong Ye continued, “Also, transfer the several properties and mines under my name to Jian Ning.”

“Da Shaoye, what are you…” Guanjia Abel looked at him with worry. “Even if you don’t want to use Horton’s method, with Dr. Goode here—since he managed to keep you safe for fifteen years back then, and now that Fang Tian is in his hands—he can definitely find another way to keep you safe.”

Zong Ye shook his head. “The time is too short. I want to make arrangements for Jian Ning and Tuantuan while I’m still conscious.”

“Don’t tell Jian Ning,” he urged. “In the future, even if I’m not here, you must take good care of Jian Ning and Tuantuan.”

“…Rest assured, Da Shaoye. I will definitely take good care of Jian Shaoye and Xiao Shaoye,” Guanjia Abel’s lips trembled as he sorrowfully accepted the order.

After dinner, Tuantuan ran outside again to burn off his meal. Jian Ning and Zong Ye went out to watch the cub. After a while, Jian Ning came back in to get water for the cub and asked Guanjia Abel, “Yeye, will that Dr. Goode really have a way to save Zong Ye?”

Zong Ye had told him so, but he still felt uneasy.

Guanjia Abel was sitting on the sofa wearing reading glasses, reading the newspaper. Hearing this, his hand holding the newspaper trembled. He put the newspaper down to cover it up and lied to comfort him, “He will. Aside from Dr. Goode, Bixia and Wanghou have gathered the most famous and skilled doctors in the entire Empire to discuss ways to save Da Shaoye. Da Shaoye will be fine.”

Jian Ning felt slightly relieved and went back outside with the water.

Watching his back disappear out the door, Guanjia Abel took off his reading glasses and let out a heavy sigh.

After running wild outside for half an hour, Zong Ye forcibly caught the little cub, halting his desire to keep running, and took him back to the room for a bath.

Tuantuan wouldn’t behave during the bath. Zong Ye rolled up his sleeves and pinned him down, only to be splashed all over by the extremely vengeful little cub. Unwilling to show weakness, Zong Ye held the cub down and washed him for an extra ten minutes before letting him go.

Tuantuan was angry, but his mood improved after his papa ruffled his fur. He rolled around playfully under the covers, waiting for his papa to finish showering in the bathroom so they could sleep. Just as he tired from rolling and was biting his own tail, the bathroom door opened with a click—his papa was out.

Tuantuan popped right up from the bed. Waiting until his papa got into bed, he eagerly burrowed into his papa’s arms, sniffed the familiar scent of body wash on his papa, let out a tiny yawn, and buried his head into his papa’s pajama collar, ready to sleep.

His papa ruffled his fur and was just about to turn off the lights when the bedroom door opened again with a click. The big white wolf appeared at the door in his pajamas.

Tuantuan lifted his head alertly, watching as the big white wolf walked over to the bed, babbled a few words to his papa, and then walked to the other side of the bed, lifting the blanket to get in.

!!! Tuantuan’s eyes went wide. The big white wolf was coming to steal his papa again?! He perked his ears up, struggled out of Jian Ning’s arms, and charged toward Zong Ye, waving his little paws. Halfway there, with a splat, Zong Ye pressed a hand down, pushing him onto the bed and stuffing him under the covers.

Bad guy, bad guy, big bad guy! Tuantuan stood up under the covers only to be pushed down by Zong Ye again. He let out a few “Aowuu, aowuu” grunts of protest, but then yawned again, lying on the bed too sleepy to move.

I’ll let the big white wolf off the hook for today. After a good sleep, I’ll settle the score tomorrow. Tuantuan rolled over on the bed, burrowed next to Jian Ning’s pillow, found a comfortable position to lie down, drooped his ears, closed his eyes, and started to sleep.

The little cub finally stopped making a fuss. Jian Ning also got into bed. Seeing Zong Ye lie down on the other side, he turned off the light.

As soon as he lay down, there was a rustling sound beside him, and a strong arm reached over, wrapping around his waist.

Jian Ning reached out to touch the space next to his pillow. Tuantuan was gone; Zong Ye had likely moved him.

“Tuantuan can enter the Cub Academy now. Take tomorrow afternoon off. I’ll pick you up at noon, and we’ll take him to the academy in the afternoon,” Zong Ye said beside his ear.

“Tomorrow?” This was so sudden, Jian Ning was a bit surprised. “Leave him be for now, your matter is more important. Are you going to see Dr. Goode tomorrow? I’ll go with you.”

Zong Ye said, “The Cub Academy isn’t far from the military headquarters; we can drop him off on the way. He’s too spoiled, it’s better to send him to the academy early to learn some discipline.”

“…Alright.” Seeing that it was on the way, Jian Ning agreed. “Then I’ll ask for leave tomorrow.”

He paused, finding a comfortable position in the man’s arms, and said, “I want to take a week off.”

Until this matter was resolved, he couldn’t focus on his classes. During these seven days, he wanted to stay by Zong Ye’s side.

“No need. Your coursework is tight right now, and you need to prepare for finals. I’ll take you to see Dr. Goode tomorrow. He’ll have a solution, you don’t need to worry,” Zong Ye lowered his head and kissed his hair.

Jian Ning nodded; everything would wait until they saw Dr. Goode tomorrow.

It was late in the night. Jian Ning yawned, leaned into the man’s embrace, and closed his eyes.

Zong Ye tucked him in. Guided by the moonlight, he found his slightly parted lips, stole a kiss, and then finally closed his eyes to sleep.

At noon the next day, Zong Ye picked Jian Ning up from the academy. After lunch, they prepared a small bag for Tuantuan filled with snacks and toys, then took him in the hovercar toward the Cub Academy.

Are Papa and the big white wolf taking me out to play? Tuantuan enthusiastically leaned against the window, thinking it was just a simple outing, until he was carried into a strange place by his papa and surrounded by a group of people.

The dean and teachers of the Cub Academy had received notice that morning that the Yuanshuai was bringing his son over. A group of people spent the whole morning frantically cleaning and organizing the academy, then scrambled to the entrance to greet them, all wanting to see what the Yuanshuai’s suddenly manifested son looked like.

Nestled in his papa’s arms, Tuantuan looked up and saw the enthusiastic gazes surrounding him. He scratched his face with a small paw. Weren’t Papa and the big white wolf taking me out to play? Why are so many people staring at me?

The citizens of the Empire all knew that the beast forms of the two Zong brothers were wolves, pure white wolves at that. However, ever since Zong Ye and Zong Ming reached adulthood, they had never shown their beast forms to the public; people could only see footage of them from when they were little on the Star Network. As a result, the academy teachers were incredibly excited—would the Yuanshuai’s son be a miniature version of the Yuanshuai from his childhood?

Seeing Tuantuan with their own eyes, the teachers couldn’t help but gasp in awe. He really was a pure white little wolf, looking so much like the Yuanshuai when he was young, only much cuter and more adorable. They all wanted to take him home to raise.

The dean showed them around the areas where the cubs usually played, then took Tuantuan to his classroom. The academy currently had fifty cubs, divided into classes of ten, with two teachers and one instructor taking care of and training each class.

Tuantuan’s class was full of little furballs: little tigers, little kitties, little leopards, all of various colors. When Jian Ning walked in holding Tuantuan, the little ones were wrestling and playing. Seeing someone arrive, they all stopped and looked at Tuantuan in Jian Ning’s arms.

“From now on, they will be your little friends. Go play with them,” Jian Ning bent down, placed Tuantuan on the ground, rubbed his head, and gestured for him to play with his new friends.

Tuantuan stared blankly at the furballs in front of him, then turned back to look at Papa and the big white wolf. The dean signaled for the teachers to let the little ones continue playing. Seeing his new friends having fun, Tuantuan happily trotted over as well.

Zong Ye and Jian Ning observed from the sidelines for a while. Seeing that Tuantuan was getting along well with his playmates, they handed the small bag they brought to a teacher, turned around, and quietly left.

The military headquarters was only ten minutes away from the Cub Academy. Zong Ye took Jian Ning into the military headquarters building to find Dr. Goode in the medical bay.

Dr. Goode knew they were coming. After greeting Jian Ning, he asked Zong Ye to enter the inner medical room to test his mental power.

Zong Ye called out to Colin, who was passing by, and asked him to take Jian Ning to his office to wait.

Colin escorted Jian Ning to Zong Ye’s office upstairs, then returned to the medical bay.

“That Fang Tian, you have people watching him closely, right? You didn’t let him wander out again?” Zong Ye asked Colin upon seeing him return, just as he was about to step into the medical pod.

Colin quickly assured him, “He’s being watched closely. We definitely won’t let him wander out and bump into your special someone.”

Yesterday, when Fang Tian ran to Shengsi Academy, Zong Ye had reprimanded him. After asking Zong Ye’s adjutant, he finally learned the relationship between Fang Tian and Zong Ye’s partner. Knowing they were coming to the military headquarters today, he had ordered the soldiers to guard Fang Tian strictly and deliberately chose the morning—when they weren’t around—to send Fang Tian to Dr. Goode for study.

Zong Ye nodded and entered the medical pod.

Twenty minutes later, he came out. Dr. Goode ran a few more tests on him, looked at the analyzed data, took off his glasses, and pinched the bridge of his nose tiredly. “I’ve reviewed your mental power analysis data, as well as Fang Tian’s. To find a way to save you within seven days is extremely difficult. The time is truly too short. The Academy of Sciences, the other doctors sent by Wanghou, and I will work as hard as we can these seven days to find a solution. As for the success rate… I hope you are mentally prepared.”

Zong Ye nodded indifferently; he had been mentally prepared from the start.

Zong Ye said, “I hope you can change your wording in front of Jian Ning. Just say you already have a lead and will have a solution very soon. Do not tell him the success rate.”

“You want to hide it from him?” Dr. Goode frowned. Although he didn’t agree, he respected Zong Ye’s wishes and nodded, “Alright.”

Seeing him agree, Zong Ye also signaled Colin to keep the secret before heading upstairs to find Jian Ning.

Jian Ning had been waiting in the office with great anxiety. As soon as Zong Ye pushed the door open, he jumped up from the sofa, went up to him, and asked, “What did Dr. Goode say?”

“He said they have a lead and will come up with a solution very soon,” Zong Ye said with composure.

“Really?” Jian Ning didn’t quite believe his words and wanted to go downstairs to ask Dr. Goode personally. Zong Ye accompanied him down.

Dr. Goode spoke exactly as Zong Ye had instructed. Worried that Jian Ning wouldn’t believe him, he even spouted a whole bunch of professional jargon, nearly making Jian Ning dizzy with confusion. Timing it perfectly, Zong Ye checked the time and said to Jian Ning, “Let’s go pick up Tuantuan. It’s his first day at the academy; he won’t be used to it.”

This successfully diverted Jian Ning’s attention. The two left the military headquarters to pick up Tuantuan. But as soon as they arrived at the academy, they heard from the teacher that Tuantuan had gotten into a fight with another cub and beat them up.
