After Sharing Senses with the Paranoid CEO, the Infamous Starlet was Forced into Pampering Chapter 26

Chapter 26: Where Are You Touching?

“Faster,” Li Yanzhou said to the driver.

After a few more minutes, Li Yanzhou felt as if his body wasn’t his own anymore. He felt as though he was being constantly dragged downward by a water current, followed immediately by that familiar, suffocating sensation crashing into his face. It was exactly the same as when Xia Mu had drowned the day before yesterday, causing Li Yanzhou’s heart to clench fiercely.

“Were lifeguards arranged?” Li Yanzhou didn’t realize that his own voice was trembling.

“Yes, three were assigned.” Seeing President Li’s suddenly tense expression, Qin Yu added another sentence, “We’ll be there in about ten minutes.”

Until Xia Mu reached the shore, Li Yanzhou remained on edge, incredibly agitated. Why couldn’t Xia Mu ever learn to cherish his own body?

A year ago, while filming, he had fallen off a horse, resulting in a compression fracture in his lumbar spine, and he lay in bed for a month. Even now, Li Yanzhou could occasionally feel a dull ache in his own lower back.

It wasn’t until Xia Mu fell weakly to his knees on the beach, and the sensation of water surging against his skin disappeared, that Li Yanzhou finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Normal cars couldn’t drive onto the beach, so Qin Yu had arranged for a beach buggy to wait at the drop-off point in advance. Before the driver could even get out to open the door, Li Yanzhou had already stepped out and walked toward the buggy. With a swing of his long legs, he nimbly vaulted into the driver’s seat.

The roar of the engine suddenly tore through the silence of the beach. Long, slender fingers gripped the steering wheel; every part of him was steeped in an icy chill that froze his joints to the point of aching.

The sea breeze scraped against his cheeks like coarse sandpaper. Li Yanzhou’s gaze was anxiously cast toward the dozen or so people on the sand not far away.

Besides Xia Mu’s team, there were also a few tourists around. Li Yanzhou drove the buggy close to Xia Mu, where the staff had draped a bath towel over him and were wiping off the seawater.

Li Yanzhou had just gotten off and was preparing to walk toward Xia Mu, but he noticed a girl walking right toward him, holding a bucket and a small shovel. She looked like a tourist, but Li Yanzhou felt something was off.

Her eyes kept darting toward Xia Mu. Suddenly, Li Yanzhou caught a glimmer of disdain and contempt carelessly leaking from her gaze.

Just as he was about to call out a warning, he saw her abruptly quicken her pace and hurl the entire bucket of water directly onto Xia Mu.

“Xia Mu, why the f*ck haven’t you left the entertainment circle yet?!”

The movement was so fast that Xia Mu had no time to react before he was drenched from head to toe.

Li Yanzhou, who had just begun to feel a bit of warmth return to his body, was instantly splashed with a chill that pierced straight through his heart. The biting cold made Li Yanzhou realize that this wasn’t just seawater—it was a premeditated bucket of ice water.

As the cold wind blew across the beach, the bath towel draped over Xia Mu turned freezing cold. His nose stung, and he let out a few sneezes.

Both bath towels were completely soaked. Xia Mu stood there—taking them off wasn’t right, but keeping them on wasn’t either. His nose was red, and water droplets clung to his face, making him look utterly pitiful and helpless.

Xu Wenyi, snapping out of her daze, was just about to put the down jacket in her hands onto Xia Mu when Li Yanzhou rushed over from behind. Stripping off his own down jacket as he walked, he directly threw away the soaked towels on Xia Mu and wrapped him up completely.

Xia Mu’s body was unbearably stiff, his teeth chattering incessantly. Seeing Li Yan suddenly appear, he couldn’t even utter a single word.

Shivering in Li Yan’s embrace, Xia Mu felt an overwhelming sense of déjà vu, but he was far too cold; his fingers could barely even bend.

Xia Mu heard Li Yanzhou let out what sounded like a sigh:

“Why are you in such a miserable state every time I see you?”

Xia Mu couldn’t answer, but it wasn’t something he could control either! Who would have thought that last time an earthquake would hit right while he was showering, and this time he’d get splashed with a bucket of water by an anti-fan the moment he came ashore? Next time… hopefully, there wouldn’t be a next time…

Li Yanzhou carried Xia Mu onto the company van. It was just the two of them inside, and the heater was running at full blast. It took a long while before Xia Mu finally recovered and felt that his limbs weren’t as stiff anymore.

“Um… the down jacket from last time hasn’t been delivered back from the dry cleaners yet.”

Li Yan’s down jacket had been heavily dampened by the water on his body.

“I’m not short of two pieces of clothing.” Li Yanzhou glared at him, exasperated at his failure to take care of himself. “Xia Mu, it is winter.”

“I know.”

“And this isn’t Sanya.”

“I know that too.”

“…Then why did you go into the sea?” Li Yanzhou forcefully held back his temper.

“Just… experiencing winter swimming.” Xia Mu pressed his lips together and gave a sheepish laugh.

You experience winter swimming, and I freeze so much I curl up into a cocoon! Li Yanzhou was fuming with annoyance.

“Aren’t you going to turn around?”

Xia Mu had taken off his swim trunks and was just about to take off his underwear when he paused and glanced at Li Yan.

“We’re both men, why should I turn around?” Li Yanzhou threw the question right back at him.

“I… can’t I be shy?!” Why was this man so oblivious?

“What’s there to be shy about? When you drowned last time, I was the one who changed your underwear.” Li Yanzhou said indifferently, “I’ve already seen it. Not that big, but the color was quite pretty.”

“You—!”

Xia Mu’s ears instantly turned bright red. It was definitely not small! He spun around angrily, turning his back to Li Yanzhou. He had just lowered the waistband halfway when Li Yanzhou spoke up at the perfect moment:

“Your butt is quite perky. No wonder EK sought you out to shoot their new products.”

Xia Mu halted his movements. He took a deep breath and turned his head to glare at Li Yanzhou:

“Although I’m very grateful, could you please get out?”

“Are you sure? My only down jacket was just soaked by you. Where do you want me to go?” Li Yanzhou looked the picture of innocence.

Didn’t you just say you weren’t short of clothes? Now you’re suddenly haggling over every detail!

“Then close your eyes.” Left with no choice, Xia Mu was forced to compromise again.

“Alright.”

Li Yanzhou’s lips curled into a smile as he stared fixedly at Xia Mu, who was on the verge of bristling with rage.

But as he closed his eyes, Li Yanzhou realized that the moment he saw Xia Mu, his lips would unconsciously form a smile. He suddenly began to reflect:

Could it be that I really like Xia Mu?

Shocked by this very thought he was wrestling with, Li Yanzhou couldn’t help but open his eyes—only to come face-to-face with a magnified visage right in front of him. It was Xia Mu.

“I knew it!! Li Yan, you don’t keep your word! Good thing I kept my guard up.”

Li Yanzhou lowered his gaze, his face expressionless. “Is wet underwear really that comfortable?”

“How could it be?”

“Then why haven’t you changed yet?”

Xia Mu was on the verge of madness. “Isn’t it because you keep staring?!”

“Am I not allowed to? What a pity, since I’ve already seen it anyway,” Li Yanzhou raised an eyebrow slightly. His calm and composed demeanor only made Xia Mu flare up even more in sheer embarrassment and anger.

“I don’t need you to remind me again.”

Just as Xia Mu snapped back irritably, Li Yanzhou suddenly stood up. Grabbing his waist, he pulled him gently forward.

“Then why aren’t you taking it off? I’ve seen it all, so what are you shy about? Do you want me to help you?”

Startled, Xia Mu found himself sitting on Li Yanzhou’s lap, his waist firmly clamped by the man’s large hands, rendering him completely unable to move.

“Wh-what are you doing?”

Xia Mu began to struggle warily, his legs kicking continuously. Looking at the increasingly dangerous glint in Li Yanzhou’s eyes, he couldn’t help but stutter:

“I-I-I’m warning you, my manager is right outside, along with several bodyguards. You might not be able to beat them…”

His chin was suddenly gripped, and Li Yanzhou’s warm lips pressed against his. Their breaths intertwined, sealing off the rest of Xia Mu’s unfinished words entirely between their lips.
