After Sharing Senses with the Paranoid CEO, the Infamous Starlet was Forced into Pampering Chapter 32

Chapter 32: So You Saw Mine

However, Li Yanzhou was always worried about scaring Xia Mu, so the words that came out of his mouth ended up being:

“I was just joking. Why did you take it seriously?”

I-is that so?! Xia Mu had worried for nothing.

Li Yanzhou called the doctor over. After examining him, the doctor said:

“The fever is already going down. Once his temperature returns to normal, there shouldn’t be any issues.”

After the doctor left, Qin Yu walked in briskly carrying breakfast. Seeing that Xia Mu had a decent appetite, Qin Yu looked at Li Yanzhou and said:

“President Li, something came up. It’s not a major issue, but it requires some clarification.”

Li Yanzhou glanced at Xia Mu, who had obviously heard it too and was staring eagerly at Qin Yu, waiting for him to continue:

“Mr. Xia was photographed at the hospital last night. The volume of discussion regarding him on the trending searches was already high, so suddenly appearing at a hospital naturally sparked speculation. If it were positive commentary, clarification wouldn’t be necessary, but some media outlets intentionally fabricated rumors and twisted the truth for the sake of traffic.”

“Fabricated what?” Xia Mu asked curiously, taking a bite of his egg pancake.

“This…”

Qin Yu wanted to speak but hesitated for a moment, ultimately unable to say it: “It’s better if you don’t know.”

“What’s the big deal? It’s fake anyway, just let me hear it so I can get a good laugh out of it.”

Qin Yu still didn’t want to say it. He looked toward Li Yanzhou, hoping he would persuade Xia Mu, but Li Yanzhou instead said:

“Just say it. Let me see what kind of story they can make up in broad daylight.”

Qin Yu had no choice but to bite the bullet and relay the online rumors:

“Because the photo of Mr. Xia was taken exactly as we were passing by the proctology department, the media spread a rumor saying that due to the earthquake incident, Mr. Xia’s career plummeted, leaving him with no roles to film, so he was begging directors everywhere for opportunities…”

“And that he even went as far as trading his body for resources. They claimed this trip to the proctology department was because his sugar daddy was too rough, leading to a torn backside, hence the hospital visit.”

Crash—!

Xia Mu heard the sound of a shattering cup. He saw Li Yan, who had been sitting to the side, suddenly stand up, the veins on his forehead throbbing violently. He was the one who had smashed the cup.

Xia Mu had never seen Li Yan so furious. Actually, because this story was just far too absurd, Xia Mu treated it as a complete joke. Who would have expected Li Yan to be this angry?

“What are you so mad about? If I actually did it with you, with your size, I’d be lucky to even walk into the hospital.”

Xia Mu lowered his eyes and scooped up a spoonful of red date and yam porridge, completely unfazed by what Qin Yu had just recounted.

Hearing Xia Mu say this, all of Li Yanzhou’s anger instantly evaporated. He raised an eyebrow and looked at Xia Mu:

“So you saw mine? And yet you still don’t want to.”

Xia Mu shook his head, looking resolute:

“I don’t want to. It feels like going to the execution grounds; it would definitely hurt worse than a whipping. But I have no choice. I promised you we could do it once, and I won’t go back on my word. After all, I’m already prepared to be f*cked to death in bed by you.”

With the two of them calmly saying such things, Qin Yu was absolutely dumbfounded. However, his excellent professionalism allowed him to pretend he couldn’t hear a thing, turning a deaf ear to their outright flirting.

“What about Xu Wenyi’s side? What did she say?”

Qin Yu suddenly heard Li Yanzhou ask. He quickly stood up straight and answered:

“A clarification was posted as soon as it was discovered, but the public opinion was guided too broadly, so it hasn’t been brought under control just yet. She contacted me and asked Mr. Xia to post a current selfie and his medical records on his Weibo account. She will handle the rest.”

Hearing this, Xia Mu put down his egg pancake and nodded. “No problem on my end.”

As Xia Mu held up his phone to take a selfie, Li Yanzhou glanced at Qin Yu and said in a low voice:

“Look into the source. Who started the rumor? Issue lawyer’s letters to everyone involved in spreading it. Don’t bother with warnings; just sue them directly.” Li Yanzhou ordered flatly. “Right, issue them under the name of Shengyi Entertainment. Make their boss cooperate.”

“Also, from now on, any operations regarding Xia Mu on Shengyi Entertainment’s accounts will be fully taken over by our company.”

“Understood. I’ll go get it done.” Qin Yu left.

Li Yanzhou turned back to look at Xia Mu, who was drafting his Weibo post.

At first, Xia Mu had wondered if he should make his face look paler and weaker. However, he didn’t expect that because of the high fever—and the fact that he naturally looked somewhat frail—he didn’t even need to fake being sick. One glance was enough to tell he was in poor condition.

Li Yanzhou thought for a moment and said, “Don’t post it yet. I contacted Xu Wenyi; wait until your company issues the lawyer’s letters, then post it simultaneously.”

Li Yanzhou knew that once Xia Mu posted on Weibo, his comment section would inevitably be swarmed. Selfishly, he didn’t want Xia Mu to endure so much abuse. Once the lawyer’s letters were issued, the cursing would lessen.

Xia Mu put down his phone, looked at Li Yan, thought for a moment, and said:

“Li Yan, actually, I’ve always had a question.”

“Go ahead.”

Li Yanzhou glanced at him, wondering what weird and wacky question that little brain of his had come up with this time.

“What is your relationship with Yi-jie? You two seem really familiar with each other.”

“Don’t worry, we aren’t boyfriend and girlfriend. I’m single and have no ambiguous partners… except you.”

As Li Yanzhou said the latter half of the sentence, he couldn’t resist looking at Xia Mu. Sure enough, the tips of his ears turned red again.

This kid is too easy to tease.

“We’re friends and colleagues. Don’t forget, I run an advertising company and frequently collaborate with her. Over time, we got to know each other,” Li Yanzhou patiently explained.

So that was it. Xia Mu understood now: “So you were the one who hired Yi-jie to manage me, right?”

Xia Mu had already guessed the answer to this, but he still couldn’t help confirming it with Li Yan.

Li Yanzhou gave Xia Mu a deep look, nodded, and said:

“Yes. She was going to have one less artist on her roster this month anyway, so taking you on was perfectly timed.”

He even knows things like that. It seems they really are close.

Seeing Xia Mu fall silent, Li Yanzhou didn’t know what he was thinking. But his quietness was a bit abnormal, so Li Yanzhou felt compelled to add:

“We really don’t have any other relationship. You aren’t jealous, are you?”

As soon as those words left his mouth, Li Yanzhou himself froze for a moment. Why am I even explaining this?

Xia Mu looked up in sheer bewilderment. “Jealous of what? I know, didn’t you just say you were friends?”

“Then what are you thinking about?” Looking so solemn, it seemed as if you were hurt.

“I was thinking whether I should finish the egg pancake first, or try this potsticker first. It smells so good.” Xia Mu said honestly.

Li Yanzhou rubbed his temples helplessly, waving a hand at Xia Mu. “Eat, just eat.”

“Aren’t you going to eat with me?”

“I don’t have much of an appetite right now.”

“Do you want me to feed you?”

Hearing this from Xia Mu, Li Yanzhou reflexively looked at him, his face full of disbelief.

“Just a joke. You have hands and feet, why would I need to feed you? Besides, I’m the patient here. If even the patient is fending for himself, you can eat on your own.”

After saying that, Xia Mu took a bite of the potsticker and narrowed his eyes in satisfaction.
