After Sharing Senses with the Paranoid CEO, the Infamous Starlet was Forced into Pampering Chapter 4

Chapter 4: What a Perky Butt~

Xiatian had long ago found a comfortable position and snuggled down under the covers. Xia Mu stared at his phone screen, his soul feeling as though it had left his body, and his nose began to sting with unshed tears. Could he just refuse this trending status?

Xia Mu held back his tears as he clicked on the high-definition photos of himself. The original photos taken by phone were a bit blurry, but the processed versions were exceptionally clear. Xia Mu could see the faint lines of his body under the white T-shirt, and even the partial curve of his backside exposed as he tugged at the front to cover himself.

If he were a regular person, Xia Mu felt it wouldn’t be much—at most, he’d suffer through some social death for a while. But he was an actor; even his oldest “dark history” could be dug up.

He had only just become famous, and now photos of his bare butt were flying all over the internet. In the future, no matter what event he attended, people would say, “Isn’t that the actor who exposed his butt?”

Xia Mu didn’t want this, but his manager’s attitude on the phone earlier made it clear that the company had no intention of stepping in, let alone suppressing the trending topics for him.

Xia Mu scrolled through his phone mechanically. The comments were simply unbearable to look at:

[Good lord, those legs! Is this some kind of Master’s task?]

[Why is the trending page full of him? Is he that desperate for fame?]

[The camera angle was clearly set up in advance. How could a random snapshot look this good?]

[Others run for their lives during an earthquake; he does a photoshoot.]

[And that cat—it’s clearly a prop. He could grab the cat but couldn’t put on pants?]

Xia Mu sniffled and rubbed his eyes to look at Xiatian. Perhaps sensing his emotions, Xiatian walked over and obediently rubbed his head against Xia Mu’s chin.

Reading all those malicious comments hadn’t broken him, but this one nudge from Xiatian caused Xia Mu’s tears to burst forth like a broken dam.

He would never regret running out with Xiatian in his arms during the earthquake.

Xiatian licked away the tears on his face. Xia Mu switched to his Weibo account:

[An earthquake occurred while I was showering. Running out without clothes to quickly escape a dangerous area is an act of emergency refuge and is completely legal. The right to life is higher than social public order and good customs.]

[No photoshoot. Life comes first. No shame.]

After posting this, Xia Mu turned off his phone and tossed it aside. He wiped the tears from his face and sniffled; his dual degree in law hadn’t been for nothing.

Taking off the down jacket, Xia Mu called the hotel staff. As he handed over the scarf and hat to be sent for cleaning, Xia Mu finally saw the logo on the scarf’s tag.

His hands couldn’t help but tremble. Even a scarf from this brand cost over a hundred thousand yuan, not to mention that down jacket whose brand he couldn’t even recognize.

Xia Mu looked down at the slippers on his feet. Li Yan had used a scarf made of money—no, a scarf woven from gold bars—to wrap his toes?!

Xia Mu instantly felt like his feet had been “upgraded.”

As he moved toward the bathroom, Xia Mu snapped out of it. Whatever, what did those things have to do with him? They were just people who happened to meet by chance.

Furthermore, Xia Mu had seen the termination of his endorsement deals on the trending searches. After years in the entertainment circle, only two small brands had sought him as a spokesperson. His manager said it had been difficult to negotiate those deals, so there would surely be a hefty compensation fee for breaking the contract now.

Xia Mu washed his face, comforting himself that it was fine. Debt was debt; he would just pay it back slowly. It wasn’t as if he hadn’t paid back debts before.

As Xia Mu took a hot shower and lathered himself with body wash, Li Yanzhou felt a tingling sensation all over his body in his temporary suite on the first floor.

This feeling… he didn’t even need to guess to know Xia Mu was showering. Hadn’t he already showered before the earthquake? Why was he doing it again?

Li Yanzhou massaged his temples, closing his eyes to try and block it out. But every time Xia Mu’s hand touched his skin, Li Yanzhou’s breathing grew a bit heavier.

The veins on Li Yanzhou’s forehead throbbed as he endured the sensation. The name mark below his abdomen grew hotter, and he simply unbuckled his belt.

His mind was full of how Xia Mu had looked in his arms—well-behaved and quiet. Those slender, straight legs; that waist he could encircle with one hand; those perky, rounded buttocks; and that skin so fair it would turn red at the slightest pinch.

Even the joints were a soft pink, looking as though they would turn a vibrant crimson with just a little friction.

Once the physical sensation faded, Li Yanzhou’s eyes were tinged with red. He pulled out a few tissues. He knew he shouldn’t have appeared before Xia Mu today; if he hadn’t, the name mark wouldn’t have reacted so strongly.

Li Yanzhou looked down and gently stroked Xia Mu’s name with his fingertips, the area feeling hot to the touch.

If only this name didn’t exist. Perhaps he and Xia Mu could have been good friends. But this name acted as a constraint, making him involuntarily fall for Xia Mu whenever he faced him.

Li Yanzhou loathed this uncontrollable emotion. He irritably tossed the tissues into the trash. Immediately after, he sneezed several times. His head felt a bit foggy—a precursor to a cold.

It made sense. Standing outside for so long in such thin clothing, it would be a miracle if he didn’t catch a cold.

However, Li Yanzhou was still pondering. Xia Mu’s reaction today hadn’t shown a single flaw; it didn’t seem like an act. Could it be that the shared senses were one-sided?

Realizing his guess was likely correct, Li Yanzhou’s first thought was actually: That’s good, Xia Mu won’t have to suffer through a cold.

It was simply nonsensical. Li Yanzhou stood up in annoyance and headed toward the bathroom.

After his shower, his assistant had already prepared cold medicine and was waiting in the living room. After finishing his routine report on work and schedules, the assistant said tentatively:

“President Li, all news regarding you has been removed from the trending searches. But regarding Mr. Xia, the direction of the trending topics seems to be manipulated. However, it looks like his company has no intention of handling it.”

Li Yanzhou was already irritable from having his mood affected by Xia Mu. Hearing the assistant’s words, he waved his hand impatiently:

“If the report is finished, leave. I’m not his mother; why should I care about every little thing?”

“Yes.” The assistant sheepishly gathered the documents. “Then I’ll take my leave. Please get some rest, President Li.”

After closing the door, the assistant was speechless. Had the CEO taken the wrong medicine today? Wasn’t he the one who demanded a daily report on Xia Mu’s schedule, down to every tiny detail?

Seeing Xia Mu without clothes, he was so worried he asked for a down jacket. As soon as the earthquake started, he scurried over to pull the guy into his arms. He gave him his clothes, his hat, and even used his scarf to wrap his feet—and he says he’s not his mother? My own mother hasn’t even treated me that well.

Li Yanzhou lay in bed. His mind was filled with the assistant’s words about Xia Mu’s trending status being manipulated and blackened by rivals. He tossed and turned, unable to sleep. Xia Mu’s face seemed to drift through his mind; as soon as he closed his eyes, he saw only him.

Left with no choice, Li Yanzhou picked up his phone, intending to see what was going on with Xia Mu’s trending topics. Suddenly, he felt a wave of warmth in his eyes, his nose felt sharp and sore, and his throat began to choke up with a sob.

Was that kid Xia Mu crying?
