After Sharing Senses with the Paranoid CEO, the Infamous Starlet was Forced into Pampering Chapter 2

Chapter 2: Where Do You Think You’re Going with Your Bare Butt?

Li Yanzhou attributed this instinctive move to the name mark on his body. It wasn’t out of his own will; he simply knew that he had to protect Xia Mu. If Xia Mu got hurt, the one in pain would be himself.

The tree trunk beside him was swaying, and the spraying columns of water from the fountain were behind them. Xia Mu’s first reaction was to crouch down and shield his head. He tucked the cat and the cat food into his own embrace, thinking that if he got buried, Xiatian might still survive.

As it turned out, Xia Mu had just crouched down and hadn’t even stabilized himself when someone suddenly scooped him up, cat and all. Above him was the heavy breathing unique to a man, sounding as if his breath was trembling from panic.

In the next second, a branch from the tree—not a thin one—brushed against Li Yanzhou’s arm and crashed down. Xia Mu was so scared that his body went stiff, and he didn’t dare move a muscle.

Because he was being held so tightly, the cat in Xia Mu’s arms let out a protest of dissatisfaction. In its struggle, it gave Xia Mu’s arm a scratch that was neither too light nor too heavy.

Li Yanzhou’s arm, which was wrapped around Xia Mu, jolted as he felt a sudden, sharp pain.

Despite that, Xia Mu still didn’t let go of the cat. Li Yanzhou gritted his teeth and looked down at Xia Mu’s damp head—he must have just finished showering and hadn’t dried his hair yet. Li Yanzhou spoke with suppressed emotion:

“Why did you bring a cat with you at a time like this?”

The man’s voice was cold and aloof, yet the questioning tone gave Xia Mu a strange sense of warmth.

“Th-thank you. But Xiatian is my family. How could I leave him behind?”

Xia Mu ducked his head. His already frozen body felt the warmth radiating from this man. It was like being near a furnace; waves of heat were continuously pouring into his body from behind.

Xiatian?

Li Yanzhou realized that must be the cat’s name.

The two of them were very close. Li Yanzhou felt the name mark on his abdomen growing hotter and hotter, seemingly diluting the chill in his body.

“Could you… put me down first?” Xia Mu lifted his gaze, turning his head to look at the man behind him.

But it was too dark, and there was no light around. Xia Mu could only vaguely see the outline of the man’s face. He seemed quite handsome—was he an actor too?

The earthquake had only lasted a dozen seconds. Although the embrace was exceptionally warm, Xia Mu also knew he didn’t recognize this person. He was already very grateful that a stranger had saved him; if he stayed in this embrace any longer, Xia Mu was worried someone would take a photo and post it online.

Li Yanzhou had just felt his body get a bit warmer. Hearing Xia Mu say this, he hesitated for a moment before setting him down.

Li Yanzhou looked down, unzipped his down jacket, and—without allowing any room for argument—pulled Xia Mu back into his embrace.

“Wait… you—!”

Xia Mu was startled and hurriedly tried to push the man away. He had never been this close to another man before; even when filming, he had never had this much skin-to-skin contact.

Xia Mu was completely tucked inside Li Yanzhou’s long down jacket, wrapped up from head to toe. It was nice and warm. Even Xiatian, who had been stressed out just a moment ago, couldn’t help but let out a comfortable “purr.”

“Where do you think you’re going by yourself with your bare butt?”

Li Yanzhou ignored Xia Mu’s struggling. His arms tightened around the other’s waist, a flash of surprise crossing his eyes. How could a man’s waist be this thin? It felt like it wasn’t even as wide as his palm.

Li Yanzhou resisted any further movement. His Adam’s apple bobbed once as he said in a low, husky voice:

“It’s not safe here. I’ll take you somewhere more open first.”

Xia Mu was bundled in Li Yanzhou’s arms like this, his cheek pressed against the man’s chest. It was hard, broad, and solid.

He seems to have a good physique?

Li Yanzhou was only wearing a thin turtleneck base layer under his down jacket. Xia Mu could clearly feel the contours of his body. His ears turned a quiet red, and he slowed his breathing with extreme caution.

Xia Mu was very light. Li Yanzhou felt like he could pick him up with one hand.

Does this person not eat?

Li Yanzhou carried Xia Mu to a private garden on the other side of the hotel. No one else could enter this place.

Xia Mu’s head remained pressed against Li Yanzhou’s chest until the man stopped. Only then did Xia Mu peek out half his face. He breathed a sigh of relief after glancing around and seeing no one.

Li Yanzhou found his reaction somewhat amusing. He was about to give Xia Mu the other down jacket his assistant had handed him, only to realize he had lost it somewhere in the chaos.

Without thinking much, Li Yanzhou took off his own down jacket and draped it over Xia Mu’s shoulders. The size was a bit too big, and since it was a long style, it almost reached Xia Mu’s ankles.

The jacket carried some of Li Yanzhou’s body heat. Xia Mu felt inexplicably shy. He looked up into Li Yanzhou’s eyes in the darkness; they were shimmering, deep, and clear—very beautiful.

“Um, you gave me your coat. What about you…?”

“I’m not cold.” If your body is warm, then I’m not cold. Li Yanzhou looked down and saw that his inner layer didn’t look very convincing, so he added, “Then stay closer.”

Xia Mu pulled the jacket tighter, wrapping it around both himself and Li Yanzhou as he spoke:

“Thank you. My name is Xia Mu. What’s your name? And could you give me your contact info? This jacket… I’ll have it dry-cleaned and returned to you once the earthquake stops.”

Name.

Li Yanzhou was stunned for a moment. He gazed intently at Xia Mu’s face.

Ever since he could remember, he had often asked his mother who the person behind the name on his body was. But the adults never told him, saying that once he grew up, a red thread of fate would naturally entwine their destinies together.

Li Yanzhou couldn’t wait, so he secretly had the butler find a private investigator. He finally managed to track down the owner of the name [Xia Mu].

When he received the photos of Xia Mu sent by the investigator, Li Yanzhou never imagined it would be a little boy—a boy with a missing front tooth, smiling at the camera.

The two faces gradually overlapped. Compared to when he was a child, Xia Mu had grown up in almost exact proportions. Coming back to his senses, Li Yanzhou’s tone grew much colder:

“Li Yan. ‘Yan’ as in ‘loathe’.”

Li Yanzhou didn’t want Xia Mu to know his real name, and even less did he want Xia Mu to know he was his destined partner.

Because under normal circumstances, the destined partner should also have his own name mark.

However, Li Yanzhou had to admit Xia Mu’s acting was good. They were standing this close; logically, the name mark on Xia Mu’s body should have been burning hot by now. But he acted as if nothing was happening, just like himself.

“Then are you staying in one of these garden rooms on the first floor?” Xia Mu pointed behind them. “I’ll send it over after it’s dry-cleaned.”

“It’s just a coat. No need to return it.”

Before Xia Mu could speak, a cold wind blew past. He couldn’t help but sneeze and shrunk his neck.

Li Yanzhou sighed softly in his heart. He took the cat from Xia Mu’s arms and set the cat food, cans, and water aside.

“Give me your hand.”

“There’s no first-aid kit, so this will have to do for now. Apply some medicine yourself after the earthquake is over.”

Li Yanzhou’s gaze fell on a bloody scratch on Xia Mu’s arm. He used a tissue to carefully wrap it before gesturing for Xia Mu to put the jacket on properly.

Xia Mu, who was staring blankly at Xiatian, did as he was told. It wasn’t until Li Yanzhou tucked Xiatian back into his arms that Xia Mu’s eyes widened. He completely ignored how Li Yanzhou knew his arm was injured and said in shock:

“He… he’s very afraid of people! Usually, he doesn’t let anyone touch him!”

“Am I not a person?” Li Yanzhou chuckled. In truth, he felt that Xiatian was quite lazy. Even when the cat was in his arms just now, it had only lifted an eyelid to glance at him before closing it again.

“Then you might be my master,” Xia Mu blurted out.
